Carbide is exceptionally strong, and your block plane will be strong and sharp enough for all applications: wood and even aluminum!.

Free sliding clamping surface adjusts to the angle of the lining offering consistent even clamping pressure.
Plastic construction allows movement of the clamp body reducing the likelihood of over-clamping.
Large knurled thumbscrew reduces fatigue from clamping full rib structures.
Flat inner jaw distributes clamping pressure over a broader area.
Gentle curves prevent corners from marring linings or ribs.
